Light, floral, fresh and aromatic. This wine smells like violets, plums, black berries and dried thyme. It’s bright and fresh on the palate with cranberry and pomegranate, and crisp bright acids and delicate tannins.

Christopher’s Journal: We typically make this wine similarly to Syrah. All whole cluster, a few days cold soak, and a week or so of extended maceration. 18 months in neutral puncheon before bottling.

Also available in Large Formats:

$134 / 1.5 L Magnum

Blaufränkisch (Lemberger)

Blaufränkisch (Lemberger) is a grape of Austrian (Hungarian really) origin that later was planted in Germany and from here, the new world under the name Lemberger (from Lemberg). It is starting to catch attention here in the Finger Lakes for its ability to handle our extreme winters, and its relative resistance to disease. It is proving its ability to be relatively flexible in its site adaptability, and we believe we will be seeing more of it in the future.
